This Intermediate Level course takes a look at Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) and Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS), both are rare, adverse cutaneous immune mediated drug reactions that predominantly involve the skin and mucous membranes. You'll learn about the epidemiology, clinical features, pathogenesis, genetic susceptibility, cause, clinical management, and prognosis.

At the completion of this course the reader will be able to:

1. Give a brief background on TENS and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS).
2. Recall the epidemiology of TENS and SJS.
3. List the clinical features of TENS and SJS, recalling the acute and late phase sequelae.
4. Describe the etiology and pathogenesis of TENS and SJS, including genetic susceptibility, drugs, and diagnosis.
5. List the management and therapy options for treating TENS and SJS, during both the acute stage and the sequelae.
6. Recall the prognosis for TENS and SJS.
