This course gives an in-depth look at the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). You'll learn about the rules that make up the act, what they cover, and who must follow them. We'll also discuss patient rights, safeguards to secure patient data, tiered fines for those entities that breach the rules, and what's changed during COVID-19.
