This course takes a brief look at the principles of, staining procedures, and applications for immunohistochemistry.

This course takes a look at the placentas of 8 women who contracted COVID-19 during the 3rd trimester of their pregnancy and examines the possibility of vertical transmission.

At the completion of this course the reader will be able to:

1. Briefly describe the principles of immunohistochemistry.
2. Recall the basics of the staining procedure.
3. List various applications for immunohistochemistry.
